Our Sea facing room had all one could expect . It would have been wonderful if the weather had been better but thats not for this review.Thoroughly recomend. The manager was very helpful in choosing the local restauraunts

Location excellent and property great, Comfortable with retained traditional features and furnishing. Breakfast area overlooking sea great way to start day and may even spot a whale while munching your toast. Happy and helpful management and staff.

I spent the night of 2 December 2022 at La Fontaine Guest House. I stayed in a garden room. The room was really spacious and had an entirely separate lounge. The bathroom was fitted with a shower and bath and again was very spacious. It's bigger than the pictures show. Everything was considered, well appointed and super clean. Natasha and her staff were attentive, friendly and super professional. Outside the room was a small private courtyard with a table and braai area. The onsite parking was also a bonus. The location is superb. At breakfast, you'll have an amazing view of Gansbaai in the distance. The center of Hermanus is within easy walking distance. No more than 800m and you'll discover shops, art galleries and restaurants. I can highly recommend this guest house and will definitely be staying there again in the future.

The perfect location both right off the cliff path and right next to (but not in the middle of) the restaurant and shopping district. Natasha provides a very Personal experience and is helpful with suggestions and reservations without being pushy. Definitely recommend

we love the place and the people. great location near the centre, great breakfast, and great room 1 . Everything about la Fontaine is very good. the food in Hermanus is excellent...and the whales are mesmerising. We always love visiting.

Perfect location. We had a rear garden room with a small balcony which suited our needs. Massive comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast and friendly staff. Daily clean should include cleaning balcony deck.

Warm and friendly host in a lovely guesthouse setting. Fantastic breakfasts with stunning views overlooking the ocean and watching the whales at play. Central location with restaurants within walking distance

Very friendly staff and a great room with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The room had a mini-bar a coffee machine and a safe. There was private parking and it was an easy walk to the town centre so did not need the car.

Amazing stay and amazing views of the ocean from the rooms. You get uninterrupted views of the whales right from the balcony. To add to this they with a very good breakfast. Walking distance from restaurants and the centre of the town.

Scenic drive from Cape Town to Hermanus was just wonderful. Natasha and Arlene we’re excellent host, when visiting this lovely welcoming guest house. We had room 1 which was just perfect for our 2 night stay. La Fontaine is in a perfect position, the views are just wonderful. The Cliff walks are exceptional. We saw whales at virtually every stopping point. We came across a bar in amongst the rocks “Ficks” to cold to use their mermaid pool! Great views, drinks and what seemed a good menu. Very friendly we stayed a while, Whale watching ! Only one disappointment our whale boat trip was cancelled due to weather. Natasha and Arlene tried numerous other companies in other areas, unfortunately the weather prevented all trips. On their kind recommendation we drove to the areas where the boats did leave. Shark boats and cages most interesting !! We were fortunate to see more whales off shore, and many Cormorant. Natasha/Arlene recommended local restaurant’s, always on hand for advice, our only error was that, we should have stayed longer. We feel 3-4 days. A visit to Hermanus and staying at La Fontaine, provide an excellent breakfast, coffee/tea making facilities, honest bar in the room. Although slightly dated, the guest house is very comfortable with lovely touches, you will not be disappointed.
